How much is the affiliate commission?

We pay you up to 20% of what the referred customer pays Sharetribe during their first 12 months as a Sharetribe customer. The official Sharetribe pricing page is the authoritative source for up-to-date Sharetribe pricing. 

Commission for Sharetribe

With the base offer, we pay you 10% of what the referred customer pays Sharetribe during their first 12 months as a Sharetribe customer.

If you publish a piece of content online promoting Sharetribe, we’ll thank you with a 20% affiliate commission (instead of the usual 10%) on all subscriptions you generate. There are no guidelines for what the content should be like or what it should say. The content should be available online somewhere permanent. Sending a newsletter is not enough to get the higher commission.

Please note: The period at which we pay out the commission is equal to the referred customer's billing period.

• Monthly plan: affiliate commission billed every month.
• Yearly plan: affiliate commission billed every 12 months.

Monthly plans (Sharetribe)

The customer chooses monthly payments. You earn a 10% or 20% commission for every month they are a customer in their first year at Sharetribe.

Example: If your referred customer signs up for a monthly Sharetribe Live plan ($259/month) and you have the default 10% offer, you will receive $25.90 for the first month, then another $25.90 for their second month, and so on, potentially adding up to $310.80 (12 x $25.90).

Annual plans (Sharetribe only)

The customer chooses to pay for twelve (12) months upfront for a reduced price. You earn a 10% or 20% commission for the whole year in one commission payment.

Example: If your referred customer signs up for a year of the Sharetribe Live plan ($2,388/12 months) and you have the default 10% offer, you will receive $238.80 in the first month, which is the total subscription plan commission you’ll receive for this customer.

Usage fees

We charge customers additional usage fees based on marketplace's use of Sharetribe's APIs and infrastructure. Any usage fees that a referred customer generates within the first 12 months are also included in affiliate commissions.

Legacy pricing

Sharetribe’s pricing changed on October 1st, 2026. Pro and Extend customers can continue on legacy pricing until December 1st, 2026. Lite plan subscribers can stay on the legacy plan indefinitely unless they upgrade or cancel. There are no base plan pricing changes for Build plan customers.

This table maps the commission rates for legacy plans, which apply to customers who converted before October 1st, 2026. Affiliates will be paid according to the legacy pricing until December 2026 or, for Lite plan customers, until the affiliate commission period ends.

Is there something else I should know?

Below are the key details of the Sharetribe Affiliate Program:

• A customer signup counts as a referral if the customer signs up for a paid plan of Sharetribe within 6 months of clicking your affiliate referral link and uses the same browser (cookie) to subscribe.
• Commission is paid for each Sharetribe customer who creates an account through your affiliate referral link and subscribes to a paid plan with the same email address. Trial signups do not generate commissions.
• Commission is paid from the subscription payment and possible usage-based fees the customer generates.
• Commission is paid based on the subscription price before VAT. Commission is not paid for canceled or refunded payments.
• Commissions are paid via PayPal. A valid PayPal account is required for the program.
• Commission payments are made on the 10th day of the following month or on the next business day.
