Everyone who signs up to your marketplace creates an account. Your Console has admin tools and views to help you understand, edit, and support your user accounts.

You can view your marketplace user data in Manage > Users tab.

Below, you can learn more about the admin capabilities available in Console.

Search and filtering

You can easily search for users by their name, email address, or User ID using the search bar. Additionally, you can filter your users based on the following criteria by utilizing the dropdown menu located on the right side of the search bar:

  • Verify email: If a user has not confirmed their email address, you can manually verify it on their behalf.

  • Login as user: You can log into the marketplace as the selected user for 30 minutes. During this period, you can view and edit their profile and listing information. This can be helpful for troubleshooting or providing support.

  • Ban user: Banning a user prevents them from accessing their account or creating a new account with the same email address. This action also means other users will no longer be able to interact with the banned user. Additionally, all listings created by the user will be deleted.

  • Delete user: Deleting a user removes their account and all associated listings in compliance with GDPR guidelines. If the user has ongoing transactions, these will not proceed, and the user will not receive any payouts. Messages and reviews from the user will remain intact. This action is permanent and irreversible

Viewing and modifying data

In your Console, each user profile contains several data fields, many of which you can edit as a marketplace admin. To modify these fields, click on the "edit" button indicated by a pencil icon next to the respective field:

  • Bio: A user's profile bio, which is publicly displayed on their profile page.

  • Name: A user's First name and Last name.

  • Email: This is the email address the user used to register their account.

  • Stripe ID: This is the connected account ID for providers who have added their payout details to the marketplace. This cannot be modified. Learn more about adding payout details.

  • User ID: This is a unique identifier for the user, automatically generated when their account is created. It cannot be modified.

  • Public data: This includes information visible to all users of your marketplace, displayed on the user's profile page. It is typically generated when a custom user field is created. Learn more about User fields.

Additionally, there are other data fields primarily used for code customization, building integrations, and automating processes using Zapier. These fields include:

  • Protected Data

  • Private Data

  • Metadata

Events: This is an advanced tool designed for developers to query and retrieve historical data about a user. It utilizes the Sharetribe Command Line Interface (CLI) to access a comprehensive record of a user's activities and interactions within the marketplace.

Exporting data

You can download your user data in a .csv file. You should export your data if you want to perform operations or analysis not possible in Console. For instance, exporting your user data allows you to feed your users' emails into your mailing list.

Shortcut links

When navigating a user's tab in your Console, there are several shortcut links designed to streamline your management tasks and quickly access user-related data:
