How to invite and manage other users in your organization (account)?

You can give other people access to your organization's Console by inviting them, as well as change their role and remove them.

If you're collaborating on your marketplace with others, you'll likely need to grant access to your Console. This could include co-founders, staff members, or external developers such as Sharetribe Experts who are helping to build or maintain your platform.

You can see and manage all members of your organizations on your organization's Manage members page. You can access it by clicking "Organization settings" at the bottom left of Console and then click "Manage organization members" from the menu that opens.

What are the different roles members can have in an organization?

There are two different roles for organization members:

  • Owner

    • Owners have the most power: they can invite other admin users or revoke their access.

    • If you created the marketplace, you have an owner account.

    • By default, there's only one owner but there can be multiple owners.

  • Operator

    • When you invite a new admin user, they are assigned the role of an operator.

    • Operators have the same permission levels as owners, except that they cannot invite new members to join the organization.

How to invite new members to your organization

On the "Manage organization members" page, you can invite new members to your marketplace organization.

You only need their email address, and they'll receive an invitation link immediately.

Each new member will become an operator, get access to all your environments, and be able to freely edit their content and configurations.

How to change the role of a member (operator/owner)

On the "Manage organization members" page, you can change the role of a member, from operator to owner or, under certain conditions, from owner to operator. Click on the menu link "···" and select "Change role to X...".

The change is applied immediately. Note there always must be at least one owner in the organization.

How to remove members from your organization

On the "Manage organization members" page, you can remove members. Click on the menu link "···" and select "Remove member...".

It is only possible to remove operators. Owner accounts cannot be removed, even by other users.
