Plausible is a web analytics tool that can help you understand who is visiting your marketplace, from where, what pages they are visiting, and how often.

It is an alternative to Google Analytics for tracking your marketplace traffic. Because Plausible is GDPR compliant, while Google Analytics is not, marketplace businesses in the EU should strongly consider using Plausible over Google Analytics. Nevertheless, all businesses might benefit from its simple setup and dashboards for understanding their marketplace traffic better.

If you prefer to use Google Analytics, you can learn how to connect it to your marketplace in this article.

What happens if I change my domain

If you have a Live environment, you may enable or change your custom domain. You should also update your Plausible domain to the new domain to make sure that your marketplace traffic continues to be tracked.

  1. In Plausible, visit your "Site settings" menu. You can access it by pressing your domain.

  2. Press "Change domain" and enter your new marketplace domain into "Domain" field.

    1. Remember to leave out https:// or www

    2. This should be the same domain you have in Live environment > Build > General > Marketplace URL.

  3. Confirm and confirm again. You do not need to copy the snippet, as the integration is already built.

  4. In Console, go to Live environment > Build > Integrations > Analytics.
