Make sure all your marketplace images, logos, and icons look great with these tips.
Presentation area determines the size of the image or logo
Images are used throughout your marketplace, such as on your landing page or a listing page. On these pages, there is a presentation or display area where the image is shown. These presentation areas determine how the image is shown.
You can control these presentation areas:
Listing images are displayed according to the listing page image layout. You set this in Console > Layout
Content page images are displayed according to your Section template and content blocks. You set this in Console > Pages.
Logos can be made to appear larger or smaller. You set this in Console > Branding
How to change image sizes in content pages
Content pages are built with Pages in Console. Each page is made up of Sections, and every Section has its own layout and image areas. Understanding how these work helps you pick the right image size and format.
Section templates set the layout. Different Section Templates arrange text, images, and content blocks in different ways. This affects where and how your images appear.
Background images are the largest. When you upload an image as a Section background, use a recommended size of 1600 × 1200 px (maximum file size 20 MB) for the best results.
Features and Carousel sections give you lots of control. These Section templates display multiple content blocks side by side. The number of blocks you add determines how much space each one gets: fewer blocks mean larger image display areas, while more blocks make each image smaller. This lets you adjust the perceived size of your images by changing how many content blocks you include.
Content block images depend on aspect ratio. Images uploaded into content blocks scale to the aspect ratio you’ve chosen for that block. Choosing a wider or taller ratio changes how the image appears within its display area.
Screen size affects image display. Content pages are responsive: the display area for each image adjusts to the visitor’s screen size. Images may be cropped automatically to fit smaller screens.
Understand how dynamic design works
Your marketplace uses a dynamic design that automatically adapts to different screen sizes and devices. This ensures your pages look good on desktop, tablet, and mobile without you having to create separate layouts.
Images are cropped to fit. As the screen size changes, the visible area of your images adjusts. To maintain the layout, the system crops first from the sides of an image.
Keep key content in the center. Place logos, text, and important visual elements toward the center of your image. This minimizes the risk of them being cut off on smaller screens.
Allow for some empty space at the edges. Using extra space on the left and right edges gives the design room to crop without affecting the main subject of your image.
How to ensure your logo looks good
The logo is perhaps the most important brand image asset in your marketplace, and you should set one before you launch. Make sure it looks good by following these tips:
Use a rectangular, horizontal logo. The logo display area in your marketplace is horizontal. A wide, rectangular logo fits this space best and prevents unwanted cropping or scaling.
Check for white borders. If your logo appears very small, it may have extra white space around it. Open the file in an image editor and crop away any unnecessary borders so the actual logo fills the image area. This will make it display larger and sharper on your site.

How to ensure your listing images look good
The listing images are the images that your providers or sellers use to showcase the products, items, or services they’re putting up for sale. Most of the time you won't have control over the images that your users upload. However, you can always guide your users to provide high-quality and correct images.
The listing image can be landscape, portrait or square, and the maximum listing image size is 20 MB and 3072 x 3072 pixels. However, in order to maximize performance, you might want to ask your users to upload smaller images. Depending on the thumbnail ratio on your marketplace search page, the recommended sizes vary quite a lot. You can learn more about the listing thumbnail aspect ratio here, in this article from the layout section. Listing images can be also disabled.
Where to find stock photos
There are multiple services you can use to find free stock photos. Start by using platforms like Unsplash, Pexels, and Pixabay. These sites offer a wide selection of high-quality images with no licensing fees. Just enter relevant keywords to search for specific images. Be sure to check the image licensing terms for any attribution requirements or restrictions.
You can also explore Creative Commons-licensed images on Flickr and Wikimedia Commons, where many photographers share their work for various usage rights.
To search on Google, use filters to display images available for reuse, but always confirm the licensing terms to ensure compliance with copyright.
Follow the minimum recommended sizes
Your images should follow the recommended sizes to ensure that they look good. Following the recommended sizes helps images fit their designated presentation area properly. It also ensures that your images display great across different sized screens from mobile to desktop.
You can learn what are the different branding images and their recommended sizes in this article.
If you don't follow the recommended sizes, your images might look cropped, pixelated, or small. You can resize marketplace photos using a basic image editor (like Paint) or an online tool like Cropp.me or Cut My Pic.
If your image is pixelated or blurry, it may be too small or too low quality. Try using a higher quality version.
Follow the supported image formats
The default image formats supported are .jpg and .png.
