My brother and I are currently building a P2P product marketplace in Sharetribe Open Source, and we have configured Stripe Connect as our payment gateway.
We are wondering if we should see 25% of our transaction fee (2,5% out of 10%) as VAT, or can we add VAT to our fee in some way? For an example if a person sells an item for $100 our transaction fee will be $10 + $2,5 (VAT)?
Is it possible to add 25% VAT to the transaction fee in Stripe Connect?
We are very curious to know how other Sharetribe Product Marketplace users have tackled this!
We faced the same problem at some point. The best is yet to set your Stripe account properly to manage VAT and display in Sharetribe if transactions are All Taxes Includes or Without Taxes

More generally, one question to the sharetribe team (@thomasmalbaux) : if I use the sharetribe hosting of my marketplace, would you assist on stripe + chargebee features (so as to have a full service) ? or would you assist with an additional cost ?
