I’m setting up an OS Sharetribe marketplace in Japan, where people typically like to be guided as much as possible. In that sense, I’m looking for a way to either
(1) create the listings myself as admin, for sellers to then simply add (an instance of) the same to the list of products they can serve and buyers to purchase them from those sellers
or
(2) let the sellers create their listings but not make them public until they have been approved by the marketplace admin, and potentially altered to make sure that naming rules, etc. are respected
Is that feasible in Sharetribe?
I would rather go for option #1 above, so that as the list of products stabilizes over time it will require admin effort only to add (few) brand-new products.
There is an option to authorize only some suppliers to post new listings on your marketplace.
However if you want to administrate your listings the best is to do it manually and expect your suppliers to play by your rule
Thank you for your response, Anthony. That’s what I thought. Enabling ‘allow only verified users to post listings’ could have done the trick, however with this option users are prevented upfront from even creating a listing.
I guess I will have to trust my sellers for now and revise their listings afterwards until I touch the code directly to meet my needs.
If anyone has already gone down that path (amend the code) I’m keen to get their advice or samples of code!
Hello Alexandre, I’m facing the same issues than you. I really need to moderate my listing, but not create the listings myself. Have you get something done already?
