How to do multiple of same item?

Hi, how do you deal with multiples?

We are a p2p rental marketplace for kids equipment. Some parents have 2 of the same item (eg .plane cushion) - currently they have to do 2 listings - one for teh single item, and one for the double item, but that causes issues with calendar synching.

Is there a fix for this? Thanks!

Hi there!

When editing Order Types, you can create your own Custom Pricing Unit.
So something like “Per piece” or “Per item”.

Buyers will then be able to buy more than one item.

However note that right now there isn’t a stock feature available, so sellers would have to reject transaction requests if they can no longer provide the item, or close the listing when all have been sold.

Thanks, no that’s not going to help. I need to have some type of inventory solution to go with it. has anyone successfully used it? thanks.

Indeed right now there is not stock or inventory feature. But as you are considering or using the open-source version already, you can build it yourself, or hire your own team to do it, independently from Sharetribe.

Maybe someone else has already built a stock feature and would be happy to share their code? Hopefully others will share their experience here too.

Has there been any progress towards a stock / inventory feature on Sharetribe Go Hosted or a workaround at least? I really hope there is something that can be done to support this. would love some suggestions if anyone has any (needs to be on Hosted for now).

I need this feature too.

is it anywhere in the roadmap? Vendors sells 40 units and they shoul be able to add inventory when almost finished or limit it.

Well, in general, it is possible, though, it needs to be customized, and we have not done such work for anybody.

Tracking inventory could be useful only when the seller has a lot of different available listings with many items for each, and wants to accept transactions automatically.
That seems to be a very rare case for marketplace users.

Also, for selling goods with standard Sharetribe flow, it is common that sellers manually track their available inventory, and decide when to accept/reject requests or close the listing as out of stock.

Have you done any of this custom work for anyone since this posting? I need to be able to have an inventory option for items in order to automate orders. I also need set order deadlines and pick up times options. Many of my users will be small farms who will have a set amount of inventory and clear order deadlines that need to be met each week.
