I want to build a marketplace on my website but its main domain name is already set up with a WordPress installation so I want to install the marketplace on a sub directory which should be here https://grabhosts.net/marketplace. So before I proceed with the payment & everything, I’d like to know if it’s possible if I can install ShareTribe on a sub-directory like this.
Or it will be also OK if I can install the software on the sub-domain of my site.
Your guidance would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
To clarify, are you using the Community Edition of Sharetribe Go, on your own servers? Or are you considering buying a subscription for the hosted version (at Sharetribe)?
This forum is dedicated to the Community Edition and our team is happy to answer all your questions about the Hosted version via the chat widget, in your Admin panel.
If you’re using the Community Edition on your own server, you could set it up on a subfolder/subdirectory, yes. That requires some work for your own server/proxy and review/update the internal links structure but you’re in control of this.
Edit: to clarify, as this has been discussed elsewhere too, this is possible but requires some significant amount of work to make it happen, as all internal links are generated with the assumption of running at root /.
With the Hosted version, using a subfolder isn’t possible but a subdomain definitely is, as you’ve suggested. We’ll be happy to help you set it up if you subscribe to one of our plans.
