SES or SendGrid?

Hi,

Was wondering if everybody could share your setup for transactional mail and why you chose that particular configuration. In particular, what are the actual performance of SES vs. SendGrid vs. others that you saw in your actual operations?

Furthermore, at some point in the future a marketplace will need to revamp its email templates.

Does the choice of the transactional email client affect this choice?

I understand that the templates are currently hard-coded. I believe that is not a good practice even for Sharetribe hosted version, as the platform admin needs to have complete control of what to send.

So anyways when a self-host move its email templates outside of the code, does the choice of SES vs. SendGrid etc. matter? We are using SendGrid and we know they have an inbuilt WYSIWYG editor. I have heard that SES does not offer this functionality.

Thank you for sharing your experiences.
