# Sharetribe Affiliate Program

The Sharetribe Affiliate Program is meant for anyone interested in promoting Sharetribe. Sharetribe affiliate partners get a commission for each customer who they direct to Sharetribe and who signs up for a paid Sharetribe plan.

## How much is the affiliate commission?

We pay you up to 20% of what the referred customer pays Sharetribe during their first 12 months as a Sharetribe customer. The official [Sharetribe pricing page](/pricing/) is the authoritative source for up-to-date Sharetribe pricing. 

### Commission for Sharetribe

With the base offer, we pay you 10% of what the referred customer pays Sharetribe during their first 12 months as a Sharetribe.   
  
If you publish a piece of content online promoting The New Sharetribe, we’ll thank you with a 20% affiliate commission (instead of the usual 10%) on all subscriptions you generate. There are no guidelines for what the content should be like or what it should say. The content should be available online somewhere permanent. Sending a newsletter is not enough to get the higher commission.

**Please note:** The period at which we pay out the commission is equal to the referred customer's billing period. 

* Monthly plan: affiliate commission billed every month.
* Yearly plan: affiliate commission billed every 12 months.

### Monthly plans (_Sharetribe)_

The customer chooses monthly payments. You earn a 10% or 20% commission for every month they are a customer in their first year at Sharetribe.

Example: If your referred customer signs up for a monthly Sharetribe Extend plan ($389/month) and you have the default 10% offer, you will receive $38.90 for the first month, then another $38.90 for their second month, and so on, potentially adding up to $466.80 (12 x $38.90).

### Annual plans _(Sharetribe only)_

The customer chooses to pay for twelve (12) months upfront for a reduced price. You earn a 10% or 20% commission for the whole year in one commission payment.

Example: If your referred customer signs up for a year of the Sharetribe Extend plan (3,588/12 months) and you have the default 10% offer, you will receive $358.80 in the first month, which is the total commission you’ll receive for this customer.

## Is there something else I should know?

Below are the key details of the Sharetribe Affiliate Program:

* A customer signup counts as a referral if the customer signs up for a paid plan of Sharetribe within 6 months of clicking your affiliate referral link and uses the same browser (cookie) to subscribe.
* Commission is paid for each Sharetribe customer who creates an account through your affiliate referral link and subscribes to a paid plan with the same email address. Trial signups do not generate commissions.
* Commission is paid based on the subscription price before VAT. Commission is not paid for canceled or refunded payments.
* Commissions are paid via PayPal. A valid PayPal account is required for the program.
* Commission payments are made on the 10th day of the following month or on the next business day.
